Mating 2021

Mating the M/A ewes went as smooth as possible this year with 2 different Mangapiri Downs rams (304 & 407) going out on the 8th of March. Unfortunately a mistake with the Toxovac timing meant we couldn’t mate the two-tooths until the 8th of April due to the mating withholding period. This being said our 2 new two-tooth sires, number 3 from Mangapiri Downs and number 234 from Barry Smith, were ready to go and seemed to cover the 89 head two-tooth mob with ease. However 10 days from the finish date, number 234 suffered a career ending injury, leaving number 3 to finish off the job. Next season we will make sure that both mobs are mated at the same time to ensure a more efficiently run season.
